Founder and Head of the Cell Bank. Employee of the Department of Cell Biology of the JU Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology.

Scientist and academic lecturer.
 
Has been working for 25 years on the biology of skin stem cells and the use of in vitro cultured cells in the treatment of severe burns and chronic wounds. Is currently conducting research on a new generation of drugs – tissue-engineered products and their potential use in regenerative medicine.
 
Author of over 70 experimental and review publications. Working in collaboration with clinical units, she plays an active part in the development of strategy for the application of ATMP products in clinical trials.
 
Is a member of the Commission of Experts of the Polish Society for the Treatment of Burns, specialising in Procedures for the Treatment of Burns in Poland, and of the Polish National Transplants Council (Development Strategy Team), and an expert appointed by the Polish Ministry of Health to the Team with responsibility for developing solutions in the area of clinical pharmacy, and also a member of the Polish Chamber of Physicians and Dentists' Team of experts on cell therapy and stem cells.
 
She has received a number of awards for her work, including:
  • in 2017, the Golden Otis award (the most important consumer award on the Polish pharmaceuticals market) – for research in the field of tissue engineering, 
  • in 2018, the Portrety Medycyny Polskiej [Portraits in Polish Medicine] award (in the Wydarzenie Rynku Zdrowia [Health Market Events] category) – for saving the life of a patient with burns thanks to use of cultured skin cells from the patient,
  • in 2019, winner of the 2018 Person of the Year [Człowieka Roku] (award conferred by the Dziennik Polska and Gazeta Krakowska newspapers) – for "humanism and empathy and passion in scientific work, for the transplant of millions of cultured cells from the skin of a patient, who had 95 per cent body surface area burns".
